This bias tape maker is just what you need for creating the Latifah Saafir Airshow Quilt and the Latifah Saafir No Latitude Quilt. It quickly and evenly folds your bias cut fabric strips - just have an iron ready to press the fabric as you pull it through the bias tape maker.
Directions: Cut 5cm (2 inch) wide strips on the bias (which means diagonal) of your fabric then pull fabric through the bias tape tool, using a hot iron to press the fold. You might want to use an awl or the point of a seam ripper to help feed the first bit of the fabric through. This bias tape maker creates a flat strip 25mm wide or a doubled over edge of 12.5mm, perfect for a decorative finish on armholes.
Creating bias tape is a great way of using up fabric scraps: create a giant scrappy bias strip from all your left over stash fabric and even old clothes that don't get much wear but still have interesting fabric.
