Alabama Chanin make your own Shawl DIY Kit

Alabama Chanin are famous for their hand-embellished organic cotton jersey clothes.

The Magdalena Shawl DIY Kit comes ready-to-sew, already stencilled with the beautiful ‘Magdalena’ flower pattern. You will reverse applique the flower pattern - that means you will hand-sew a running stitch around the outside of the flower print and then cut away the top layer to reveal the fabric underneath.

There are 3 sizes:

• Large is a full shawl size of approx 40cm x 100cm
• Medium a slightly narrower shawl size of approx 35cm x 100cm
• Small is a scarf size, approx 20cm x 100cm

• 100% organic jersey top and bottom layers cut to size: the top layer is already stencilled with the Magdalena flower pattern and ready to sew
• Instructions and Thread – the famously strong Button Craft Thread

The light blue colour is discontinued and replaced with a dark denim blue Alabama Chanin cotton jersey.

Skill level: Suitable for beginners. The Alabama Stitch Book available here explains the techniques used to create this shawl as well as many more stitches and patterns.
